It was a very good sermon for the most part: certainly with a message that would do me well to hear more often from others. For our Heavenly Father delights in using His chosen servants to echo what He personally reveals; and I really struggle with my own weaknesses: despite knowing full well that they are for the best.

Nonetheless: I am compelled to call attention unto something that you said that could be taken the wrong way; and that would be: "Paul had to be weak to be humble". For our Heavenly Father could have chosen to teach him about His humility in another way.

Yes, this sounds like just another case of someone being way too nit-picky; but be assured that this is some serious stuff. For far too many have been led to believe that certain things have to be done in a certain way in order to achieve a desired result; and that our Heavenly Father is just as limited by these laws of nature as the rest of us. Whereas: the absolute truth of the matter truly is that He could have (just as easily) created the Apostle Paul (as well as the rest of us) much more like Himself; and He does not need to be weak in order to be humble: be assured.

No, He has not made it clear unto me whether or not you really meant it to sound that way; but even if you didn't: it still needs to be clarified: For to leave it as it not stands is to deny His absolute power; and the devil and his demons will be allowed and enabled to seek to take advantage.

Please, be assured that I have done the same thing many times in the past. In fact: I still do more often than I want to be reminded of. For to think in such limited terms comes quite naturally, which is another thing that our Heavenly Father could have prevented from the very beginning if He had of wanted to; and He could certainly put a stop unto such worldly ways in me now.

My grace is sufficient for you....

I remember crying my heart out to God while in the shower, where the sound of the water would cover the sobs I didn't want my mother to hear. My father was in the hospital having had a second stroke and one from which he would not recover. I'd had a nasty argument with my husband over the phone and wondered if our marriage was in trouble. I was already into the third month of staying with my 70 year old mom, a long way from home, and had missed spending our 9th wedding anniversary together. And I was crying in the shower when God spoke those words to me.

I cling to them still.

Well done, Bob.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.. I appreciate your listening to what I said and leaving a note.

I agree with you FishHawk.. you said it well. I often say that humility is not optional for a believer ... you humble yourself or He does it for you.. the means of humility however is very diverse.. he deals with each of us so uniquely.

Personally, humility has been a difficult journey for me.. one that caused me repent of judgmentalism.. forced me to deal with an arrogant theology and behavior.. it has been a long painful messy journey.. and I feel that I have so far to go.

Thanks again all for the comments.

Be assured that your response displays a great deal of our Heavenly Father's grace and humility.

I am finally listening. I cried at one point. Ann is an inspiration.

This was a really good message. Don't hear too many on weakness.

my grace is sufficient for you my power is perfected when I'm not IN CONTROL. Never thought of it that way before.

Thanks Barbara and Mary for the encouraging words. Usually my messages are not recorded because they are given at our county jail.. so it is always great to get feedback.

Blessings, Bob
